Cause for Celebration
Yesterday, I took advantage of a temporary cessation of precipitation to take the kids (dogs) on a perambulation, received with much adulation.

Part Two
In the second installment of the I-kid-you-not category, as spotted in Corvallis, Oregon: a big white truck, driven by a tiny man. On the back of the truck in all capital letters, "PENETRATIONS" and in smaller letters underneath, "Concrete Cutting." Didn't get the chance to meet him to find out if he's just an idiot, or if he has a great sense of humor. I'm voting for the latter, but then again, I'm an optimist.

Double Vision
Forget the leaf blower, get a flame thrower. I kid you not, today I saw a park employee carrying around a propane tank attached to a torch, using it to burn the grass off the sidewalk in Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon. Eugene is getting all gussied up because, in a month, they are hosting the Olympic Trials for track and field. Today I had a treat from Sweetlife Patisserie: a peanut butter mousse, sandwiched between two chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, dipped in a quarter-inch of dark chocolate. Yes, it was vegan. Yes, I would consider moving to Eugene just for this confection.
